Born in 1998, Ullysses is our fancy "Sporthorse Model" Friesian. He is 16.1 hands, has a long elegant arched neck, a well defined masculine and majestic face, long legs and a powerful hind end. Ullysses made his debut at Training Level with rider Sean Cunningham. In 10 short months, they went from starting under saddle to competing at Region 8 Championships and placing 6th in the Open Training Level Division in 2003. In one of their dressage tests they scored above 76%. Ullysses also competed in the Mature Stallion Class at several breed shows and did very well. He qualified for the USDF/Cosequin East Coast Breeder's Championship Class at Devon. Ullysses has recently changed careers and is now in training for Combined Driving with Roger Roberts of Sugarbush Hill Farm. In 2005 and 2006, Ullysses schooled at several CDE’s at Training and Preliminary Level including the Garden State Classic, Gladstone Fall Event and Elk Creek. At Elk Creek, he was first place in the dressage section. In October of 2005, at the German Friesian Horse Society keuring, he was awarded “Star Stallion” based on his conformation and movement. Ullysses will continue training for Combined Driving and competing. He is truly an awesome driving horse with a huge forward moving stride. Ullysses is that rare horse who gives his loyalty to his trainer and has such a big heart that he will go the distance for you and not give up, do the best he can possibly do and give you every ounce he can squeeze from inside. It really is an overwhelming experience. Ullysses is truly a proud and magnificent stallion !
